Background info
Reiki is a
Japanese healing technique that transfers energy through the hands of a
practitioner to provide healing. It uses energy exchange during the process and
promotes stress reduction as it encourages relaxation. In reiki the person
receiving the treatment lays on a bed and the healer places their hands on the
receiver to their affected areas.
Research
suggests that reiki treatments are linked with improvements in depression and
anxiety. Research has also shown that Reiki can be helpful for improving mood
and relieving stress through lowering heart rate and blood pressure, and
increasing immune strength.
Reiki
reduces stress by incorporating music, drums, breathing and training the mind
to bring awareness to the body’s wellness. This shifts the body from a fight or
flight (stress) response into a more relaxed state.
Reiki
involves the use of vibrations through the music and drums. Given there is
scientific evidence behind the use of sound and music on a therapeutic level it
is no wonder people have been positively impacted by reiki treatment.
My
experience with Reiki
Reiki is so
good for my mind and body. It is incredibly relaxing - listening to the shamanic
music that is played during my healings. I get so much out of a healing session
and am always completely relaxed afterwards. I love going to reiki, my healer Annie
is outstanding and she has great wisdom. I love reiki as it aligns with my mindset,
given that I am in touch with my body and mind. I have found it immensely
useful for my emotional health and well being, and find it calms my busy mind
and helps me with my anxiety.
I would
recommend for anyone with a lot going on in their lives to try reiki for
themselves. Reiki reminds us to stress less and enjoy life for what it is.
