Alternative Medicine: Natural Remedies



I believe in all things natural in my life, including natural remedies for health issues. For hundreds of years, people have been using natural solutions to relieve ailments of the body with great success. I have listed below a few natural remedies I use to alleviate some common health conditions. If any of these interest you, give it a go!


Neem oil for skin inflammation

Neem oil is created from the seeds of the neem tree and contains anti-inflammatory properties, which thus help with a range of skin irritations. Although it doesn’t smell great, it has been found to be amazing for the prevention and treatment of skin issues. Adding a drop of neem oil to your usual moisturiser could work wonders!

Eyebright tea for eye irritation

Eyebright is a herb that has been used to treat minor eye issues, such as irritation, for centuries. The herb contains several plant compounds that have been found to prevent the release of histamine, thus helping prevent an eye allergy. As well as this, studies have found that the herb helps control cornea inflammation in the eye. To use, just create a pot of eyebright tea and use the liquid to gently wipe your eye.

Manuka honey for sore throat

When I am suffering from a sore throat, a spoon of manuka honey can really help! Unlike traditional honey, manuka honey is full of anti-bacterial properties which can help fight against an infection in the throat. As well as this, manuka has a soothing effect, which helps ease the pain of the sore throat. Manuka honey – effective and delicious!
